Satellite images showing abandoned and unused cities in China like Kangbashi, Bayannao, Zengzhou, Erenhot, Xinyang and Dantu are revealed in photo essays and articles published by Time Magazine and the Daily Mail. These ghost towns provide an insight into what is happening to some of the 20 new cities being builtin China every each year despite 64 million houses standing empty in an emerging property bubble. This offers an interesting point of comparison with the current status of the property market in the United Kingdom and the impact of the sub-prime crisis on the US real estate market that resulted in over one million homes repossessed last year, with a further 850,000 expected this year.
