Iraq, Kuwait Discuss Fields

Iraqi and Kuwaiti officials met this week to discuss development of cross-border oil fields and the best way of protecting each country's sovereign rights to the reserves. "Technical negotiations between Kuwait and Iraq are ongoing in order to achieve best exploitation of joint oil fields," Kuwait's assistant oil undersecretary for technical affairs, Ali bin Sabt, said. He added that the sides were using examples elsewhere in the world as reference points.
