Canada's upstream oil industry is beginning to feel the pinch of lower prices. Expected growth in fourth-quarter output failed to materialize and this year has also started off with a lackluster performance in January.Data released by Statistics Canada shows that total output for January rose by 95,000 b/d from December to 3.33 million b/d. However, that was entirely the result of a 135,000 b/d bounceback in natural gas liquids (NGL) output after a sharp drop in December.
