DPL moving to spin off plants into new genco

Dayton Power Light, the smallest of Ohio's four major investorownedelectric utilities, is moving to spin off its roughly 3,000 MW intoa new generation company later this year, eschewing a possible sale ofthe mostly coal-fired power plants.The utility, owned by AES Corp., an Arlington, Virginia, global powerproducer, is "on track to legally separate its generation assets" byJanuary 1, 2017, DPL confirmed in an email late last week.
