Aramco Tenders LTA for Huge Offshore Field Upgrade

State-owned oil giant Saudi Aramco has opened the bid for a long-term agreement (LTA) contract to upgrade its largest offshore oil field to help maintain production capacity, industry sources familiar with the matter told International Oil Daily. The LTA is for the kingdom's Safaniya oil field, located about 200 kilometers north of the company headquarters in Dhahran — considered to be the world's largest offshore oil field . The new contract's scope of work, roughly valued at $150 million by contractors, involves installing and upgrading a number of pipelines and power cables, as well as building a number of tie-in jackets and platforms, sources said.
