The closedhyphen;form solution for the transmitted electromagnetic, impulsive, transverse magnetic plane wave obliquely incident on the compressible plasma halfspace has been obtained using a firsthyphen;order perturbation theory. The ratio of the electron acoustic velocity and the speed of lighta=v/cplays the role of a small parameter. Similar to the reflected waveform, the effects of the shift along the ohgr;ptaxis (angle of incidence Vthgr;45deg;) and the change of the amplitude (Vthgr;quest;45deg;) have been observed. Implications of these results for the possible plasma diagnostics are discussed, and further investigations are suggested.
