Several rotational transitions in CH3F were observed at high magnetic fields to give the moleculargvalues ofgperp;equals;minus;0.062 plusmn; 0.002andgpar;equals;0.265plusmn;0.008, the magnetic susceptibility anisotropy ofkhgr;perp;minus;khgr;equals;lpar;8.5 plusmn; 0.6rpar;times; 10minus;6thinsp;ergsol;G2middot;mole, and molecular quadrupole moment along the C3axis ofQpar;equals; (0.4 plusmn; 1.0) times; 10minus;2 6esu middot; cm2. The value ofgpar;in CH3F is compared to other molecules. The remaining Zeeman parameters are listed and discussed in light of the electronic structure.
