摘要

With the IEAV recent announcement that it will release 60MM bbl of oil (2MM b/d) from its emergency reserves over a period of 30 days, OPEC, specifically Saudi Arabia, may not meet its proposed increase in crude production. At the oil cartel's meeting on June 8, Saudi Arabia suggested that OPEC increase its crude production by 1.5MM b/d to 30.3MM b/d, citing a forecast for increased crude demand in H2. A number of OPEC member states- including Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Iran, Libya, and Venezuela-did not agree with Saudi Arabia's call to boost production, but Saudi Arabia still expected to pursue the increase.
