A number of new pipeline projects are looking to move US light crude to the state of Louisiana,both for processing by refineries in the state and for export via the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port(LOOP).On April 1,Energy Transfer Partners and Phillips 66(P66)started up the Lake Charles-to-St.James portion of their Bayou Bridge pipeline,which is designed to move light oil to the heart of Louisiana's refining country.Bayou Bride has also launched an open season to gauge shipper interest in joint-tariff transportation service on certain connecting pipes that haul light crude from the Bakken,Gushing crude hub,the Niobrara,and the Permian to the state.
