Infrared spectrum of the fundamental vibrationndash;rotation band of ODminus;

The fundamentalv=1larr;0 vibrationndash;rotation band of ODminus;has been observed using the tunable infrared radiation from a difference frequency laser system and the velocity modulation technique for detection. The band origin is determined to be 2625.332(3) cmminus;1. The rotational constantBand the centrifugal distortion constantDhave been determined for both the ground state and the first excited state. A remarkable similarity between molecular constants of ODminus;and OD has been noticed and utilized to estimate equilibrium vibrationndash;rotation constants. These vibrationndash;rotation constants were used to estimate the equilibrium bond length and the quadratic, cubic, and quartic force constants.
