Measured fluorescence lifetimes of individual rovibronic levels in SiH2(Atilde;thinsp;1B1, 0n0,n=1,2,3), vary irregularly from one level to the next. The distribution of these fluctuations is well fitted by the procedure of maximal entropy. This suggests that the intramolecular evolution at that energy range (sim;18thinsp;000 cmminus;1) is chaotic and uniformly samples its available phase space.
