Temperature dependence of pressure broadened linewidths in the microwave region

Selfhyphen;broadened linewidths of OCS, BrCN, CH3Br, and HCHO have been measured at various temperatures from minus;40 to 75thinsp;deg;C using a double modulation microwave spectrograph. The linewidths have also been calculated using Andersonndash;Tsaondash;Curnutte theory and the extension by Murphy and Boggs. Within the temperature range investigated the linewidth decreases with temperature both experimentally and theoretically in an identical manner.
