Hydrogen Bonds Involving Sulfur. II. The Hydrogen Sulfidendash;Hydrosulfide Complex

The possibility of strong hydrogen bonding of the Ssngbnd;Hsngbnd;S type is investigated in the H2Ssngbnd;HSminus;adduct, usingab initioMO LCAO SCF techniques. A variety of configurations are considered. A symmetric linear form of the adduct with a very strong hydrogen bond is found to be most stable. Some properties of this bond are discussed.
