Metal-Free One-Pot Synthesis of Sulfonamides from Nitroarenes and Arylsulfonyl Chlorides in Water

abstract_textpA metal-free one-pot synthesis of sulfonamides from readily available nitroarenes and arylsulfonyl chlorides promoted by diboronic acid in water has been described. Twenty-one examples of arylsulfonamides were obtained in moderate to good yields. Notably, a disulfonamide was also prepared from dinitrobenzene by this method.
