Orientational dependence of spinndash;lattice relaxation in nematic liquid crystals

We have extended the calculation of Ukleja, Pirs, and Doane on the spinndash;lattice relaxation in nematic liquid crystals to calculate the orientational dependence of the rotating frame relaxation rateTminus;11rgr;. This calculation, including the effect of cutoff in the collective order modes, is compared to the experimental data for MBBA.
