A positive TI-201 and negative Ga-67 pattern scan has been proposed for the scintigraphic diagnosis of pulmonary Kaposi's sarcoma in patients with AIDS. The authors believe this approach should be taken with caution because Kaposi's sarcoma is often located in a small area such as the wall of the trachea or a segmental bronchus of a single lobe, and a concurrent infection is also common. This combination results in a negative thallium and positive gallium pattern scan.
