Wings B.E.2 progressing

Restoration of Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2c replica G-AWYI, which achieved small-screen stardom in the 1975 BBC television production Wings, is progressing well with owners Stephen Slater and Matthew Boddington at Sywell aerdrome in Northants. A first flight is hoped for sometime during 2008.The fuselage is steadily heading towards completion, and trial fittings of engine mounts, cabane struts, undercarriage skids and tail featherswere recently undertaken. One of the current challenges involves getting the fuel tank to fit under the front fuselage decking.
