Further examinations on the thermodynamic stability of the Miendash;Gruuml;neisen equation of state

The Miendash;Gruuml;neisen equation of state (EOS) is further examined for restrictions upon the form of the Gruuml;neisen parameter, which is given as a function of volume and relates the pressure and energy changes at constant volume. Employing basic thermodynamic rules and applying them to the Miendash;Gruuml;neisen EOS, a more restrictive condition is offered for the Gruuml;neisen parameter, which extends previous work on the subject.
