Time to get your diaries out and plan theyear's historic aviation activities! This issue includes our annual preview of the season's airshows and events in the UK and worldwide, and the photographs alongside the listings have been selected to give a flavour of things to look outfor. Vulcan and DC-6 are the obvious ones for the UK, and it will be great to see a Swordfish back on the display circuit. Meanwhile, many shows will be including special elements to mark the Centenary of Powered Flight in the UK, in the long runup to the day itself on October 16.Looking further ahead, our newspages report the prospect of a Lockheed Starliner - the ultimate Constellation - flying in Europe. Don't expect it this season (see picture below), but what a treat to look forward to! The other side of the coin is the serious bureaucratic threat to continued Dakota pleasure-flights - so book a seat while you can. While planning your year, check out the full details of our 2008 Aeroplane Reader Tours on pages 79 and 80, which we previewed last month. Bookings are already coming in, so don't delay!
