The vibrational relaxation rates of HFlpar;v=1rpar; and HFlpar;v=3rpar; have been measured in H2,N2, and D2at 200 and 295 K. Thevdependence of the relaxation rates is essentially the same for N2,D2, and several other diatomic molecules that deactivate HF via exothermic processes. The rates for HFlpar;v=3rpar; deactivation are larger than those for HFlpar;v=1rpar; by a factor of sim;18 at both 200 and 295 K.
