We report some Monte Carlo simulation data illustrating the migration effects produced by a circular Couette flow of a dilute suspension of dumbbell molecules. Our data support an approximate theory due to Aubert and Tirrell lsqb;J. Chem. Phys.72, 2694 (1980)rsqb; in the central region of the flow field. By appending to Aubert and Tirrellrsquo;s solution, a boundaryhyphen;layer correction, we obtain approximate expressions for the concentration profile of the dumbbell and the conditional shear stress which are well supported by our simulation data.
