Effects of filler variations on rubber compound

During processing, the flow of a raw rubber or rubber compound is shear rate dependant. A higher shear rate will reduce the viscosity of rubber. This is known as non-Newtonian behavior, pseudoplasticity, or simply shear thinning. Different raw rubbers or rubber compounds have different degrees of this shear thinning quality.
