Optical Activity in Absorbing Media

摘要

Certain dispersion formulas, relating the ellipticity and molecular rotation of optically active solutions, are derived. These are analogous to the Kramershyphen;Kronig transform relations between the absorption and refractive indices. Some discussion is offered of the factors influencing the respective shapes of absorption and ellipticity curves.
