Simple Carbohydrate-Derived Multifunctional Gels

abstract_textpWe report the design and synthesis of two mannose-derived low molecular weight gelators (LMOGs) that show various potential applications. These gelators show high degree of gelation with several organic solvents and oils in very low concentration. Both the gelators showed self-healing property, phase selectivity in aqueous-organic interface and potential UVscreening application due to their near opacity in the UVregion.
