Semiclassical theory of optical rotation near resonance absorption

A recently presented technique is used to derive expressions for the dynamical polarizability agr; and the optical rotation parameter bgr; which do not diverge at resonant absorption frequencies and nonzero light intensities. The effective agr; and bgr; are intensity dependent but yield the usual divergent forms in the limit of zero intensity.
