Superconducting copperhyphen;rich composites containing V3Ga filaments have been prepared by a process which consists of melting the constituent elements into ingots followed by subsequent cold working and heat treatment. The composites were fabricated into 1times;1hyphen;mm rods, 0.25times;3hyphen;mm ribbons, and 0.4hyphen;mm wires. The superconducting transition temperature is about 13thinsp;deg;K. The critical current density,Jc, at 4.2thinsp;deg;K and zero field is as high as 2.9times;104A/cm2and decreases to 2times;103A/cm2at 60 kG.Jcwas found to decrease only slightly with temperature up to 9thinsp;deg;K.
