To effectively reduce the electromagnetic (EM) noise radiation from operating electric machines or equipments, we need to locate the EM noise sources inside them. In this study, we try to estimete the 3D locations and polarizations of low-frequency (< 30MHz) EM sources, by applying the MUSIC algorithm to the EM wave forms observed around the sources. Numerical simulations as well as experiments demonstrate the capability of the algorithm to effectively localize the locations and polarizations of the multiple magnetic dipole sources. We also develop a system to visualize the estimated source locations onto a simultaneously taken camera or video image.
