The relative energies of SFminus;6and SF6as a function of geometry

The potential curves as a function of symmetric stretch have been computed for SF6and SFminus;6at the SCF level. The calculated electron affinity of 0.90ndash;1.00 eV and the photodetachment threshold of 3.0 eV appear to be in good agreement with existing experimental data.
