We present the first demonstration of single-walled carbon nanotube growth from liquid gallium and indium catalysts. The nanotubes were grown via thermal chemical vapor deposition from 1 to 3 nm films of gallium and indium, which dissociate into liquid droplets on silicon substrates at high temperatures. The nanotubes were characterized by Raman spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy and are found to have diameters between 1 and 2 nm.
