Sustainably innovative 282,000 people visited the up-per Austrian State garden show in Kremsmünster between 21 April and 15 October 2017. Under the title "Dreiklang der G?rten" (Triad of Gardens) and occupying a site of about 22 hectares the show was an immense success with the public and local people. 100,000 flower bulbs, 70,000 spring blos-soms, 8,500 shrubs and grasses and 45,000 summer flowers could be admired for half a year. They certainly contributed tothe success. But far more important are the changes initiated by the garden show, which continue to exert an effect today. In its role as a land use and urban planning instrument the regional garden show deserved all the applause it received. The Vienna-based landscape architect Carla Lo together with Viennese landscape architect Marlis Rief and the Traffix Verkehrsplanung GmbH won the EU-wide landscape ar-chitecture competition that preceded the project and subse-quently developed the master plan and a large part of the detailed plans. Given the size of the site and its distribution in three places - Kremsmünster Abbey, the market town of Kremsmünster and Schloss Kremsegg - this was a most com-plex task. Consequently, the interventions undertaken in the framework of the show were varied.
