摘要

The electron energyhyphen;loss spectrum of 25hyphen;keV electrons in molecular nitrogen has been rehyphen;investigated in the 12.5ndash;14.9 eV energyhyphen;loss range with improved energy resolution of 10 meV. The band intensities of thebandbprime;progressions, which consist of the bandsj, b, m, p, q, andbprime;, g, f, r, s, tas recently turned out, exhibit strong perturbations due to configuration interaction with thecandcprime;state, respectively. The disturbed intensity in the progressions is quite analogous to the one in the twohyphen;electron excitation region of helium. Intensity perturbations in theoseries, if any, should be very weak.
