Pair correlations near a hard wall: An analytical theory

摘要

A new integral equation for an average of the pair correlation function in the presence of a hard wall is derived. This equation is solved analytically for a fluid of hard spheres in the presence of an infinitely repulsive wall. The results compare favorably with Monte Carlo calculations.
