Approximation of TFD molecular densities by the sum of separated atom TFD densities

It is shown analytically that the rsquo;rsquo;boundsrsquo;rsquo; on the approximate TFD potential obtained when the molecular TFD density is approximated by the sum of the separated atom densities must cross. This is in agreement with the result of Gunther that the lower rsquo;rsquo;boundrsquo;rsquo; is not a true bound.
