Rate constants for collisional detachment of NOminus;,NOminus;plus;Xrarr;NOplus;Xplus; e,have been measured from 193 to 506deg;K for X as He, Ne, H2, NO, CO, CO2, N2O, and NH3. The data fit Arrhenius plotskdequals;Aeminus;Esol;kTwith bothAandEshowing large variations withX. From equilibrium constant considerations, electron attachment rates to NO have been calculated. An estimate for the electron affinity of NO3is obtained from some auxiliary considerations. Rate constants for the chargehyphen;transfer reactions of NOminus;with O2and NO2were found to be 5 and7.4 times; 10minus;10thinsp;cm3secminus;1, respectively.
