Beijing-Covestro has joined forces with China's Academy of Building Research to develop energy-efficient,flame-retardant polyurethane window frames.The Experimental Platform for Energy and Environment of Future Residential Buildings also involves German window and door technology supplier Gretsch-Unitas Group.Chinese composite materials maker Zhejiang Deyilong Technology is also involved,Covestro said.'Such window framesare in high demand in China,'said Irene Li,Covestro's head of PU RD in Asia Pacific.'Energy efficiency standards for buildings are becoming increasingly stringent.'
