Cuboctahedral Bonding

摘要

Molecular orbitals belonging to the different irreducible representations of a B12cuboctahedron are set up and parametric expressions for the energy levels obtained. Terms neglected by Lipscomb and Britton are included. Directed orbitals for groupOhcoordination of 12 ligands about a central atom are formulated and Pauling strengths calculated.
