Application of actionhyphen;angle variables to the calculation of the density matrix

Using the analogy of actionhyphen;angle variables in classical mechanics we introduce the notion of quantum actions in the calculation of the density matrix. The result is an integral representation of the density matrix in its semiclassical limit. This involves only the classical generating functions.
