This paper is a continuation of a previous investigation of the Paulindash;Breit Hamiltonian in the framework of the graphical spinhyphen;dependent unitary group approach to many electron systems. TheSU(2) tensor form for the spinndash;spin interaction and its corresponding zero spinhyphen;shift component are determined explicitly and applied to investigate the first order energy level splitting due to the spinndash;spin interaction, entirely within the context of the unitary group approach. Our results are also discussed in terms of the unitary group density matrix formalism.
