A previously well-known, but now largely forgotten locality, the Jackrabbit mine was formerly a small producer of an assemblage of attractively crystallized secondary copper and zinc species. During the days here in Nevada when the state was still relatively sparsely populated, when mining was still being conducted as a regular work profession, and when the small number of competent field mineral collectors, including the names of Hatfield Goudey, Jack Parnau, and Forrest Cureton were active, the Jackrabbit mine was recognized as one of the many Nevada mineral localities which afforded nice specimens.
