The relative intensities of the transitions occurring in the fluorescence spectrum of KY3F10: 1percnt; Eu have been measured at 77 and 4 K. By using the computed eigenfunctions for each Stark level, the Juddndash;Ofelt theory is used for calculations of the electric dipole intensities. The nine phenomenological parameters allowed by theC4vpoint site symmetry of the lanthanide in KY3F10are obtained, showing a good simulation of the phenomena. They have been compared in some cases toaprioricalculations. The multipolar character of the transition and the importance of theJhyphen;mixing effect are underlined.
