The authors present the case of a patient with an apparent separation of the right ventricle into two chambers as shown by gated blood pool imaging with Tc-99m labeled red blood cells. Two dimensional echocardiography demonstrated a prominent trabecula in the right ventricle that accounted for this appearance. The differential diagnosis for this ldquo;double chamberrdquo; appearance includes normal anatomical structures such as prominent trabeculae, intracavitary masses (i.e., neoplasms and thrombus), marked right atrial enlargement, pseudoaneurysm formation, and imaging artifacts due to body motion.
