The laser magnetic resonance spectrum of the ngr;2band of ND2(ngr;0=1108.7493 cmminus;1) has been observed using a CO2laser in the 9ndash;10 mgr;m region. By a leasthyphen;squares fit of over 300 resonances, the ngr;2band origin and the rotational, centrifugal distortion, and spinndash;rotation parameters for both the ground (000) and excited (010) vibrational states were determined. A transition arising from the (020) rarr; (010) hot band was also tentatively identified, and this allowed a determination of the hot band origin. A comparison of ND2and NH2, along with some other doublet asymmetric rotor molecules for which deuterated species have been studied, showed that the spinndash;rotation interaction constants (egr;aa, egr;bb) scale quite accurately with rotational constants (A,B) between isotopic species.
