The criticism of Lawsonrsquo;sntgr; criterion in a recent paper is based on a misunderstanding of conventional definitions of the confinement time tgr;. In attempting to rsquo;rsquo;generalizersquo;rsquo; the Lawson criterion, the authors introduce errors of physics that lead them to draw incorrect conclusions about the feasibility of controlled fusion and the relative advantages of various reactor concepts.
