Role of Asynchronous Generators on the Stability of Synchronous Generators

摘要

Satisfactory performance of power system depends upon the synchronized operation of generation system. In this paper, the rotor angle stability is analyzed for the two regimes (i) With synchronous generation, the rotor angle stability is analyzed under Steady state condition and Transient condition. Steady state condition-Situation of the system undergoing the gradual or relatively slow transformation of real and reactive power in the system in both generator bus as well as load bus. Transient condition-The power system has the capacity to sustain in synchronism, during the transient interruption such as fault on bus, fault on transmission lines, sudden loss of generation, etc. (ii) With Asynchronous generation-Displacing the asynchronous units (wind generation) on the synchronous system and the rotor angle is enhanced for the test system. The asynchronous units applied to the test system are Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). The IEEE-39 bus test system is adopted for the determination of the rotor angle.
