Techniques Usedon E-Clinic Portal Access Control

E-Clinic Portal is a web-based application that provides services to all users at anytime and anywhere as long as they have access to the Internet. E-Clinic portal consists of several modules that offers special design for clinic, corporate and patient usage. It acts as a platform that link all clinics, corporations and patients together, which bring a lot of convenience in their daily life. For corporate, they can register their employee intended panel clinic once corporate subscribes to this portal. They can easily view their employee medical expenses and perform online payment. Furthermore, it allows the patient or employee to get know particular clinic or health professional before making an appointment. The biggest contribution of this portal for the clinic is that it consists of ready-to-use and functional modules for day-to-day clinic operation which deliver efficient managerial tools for clinic admin, doctor, nurse and pharmacist. As a result, sufficient knowledge in security handling is very important since all the data are shared among employer, patient, doctor, nurse and pharmacist. Therefore, only authorized users will be given the right and privilege to access the web modules to manipulate data through E-Clinic portal. This paper describes the various techniques used in developing the portal and also the advantages and disadvantages of each technique will be discussed in details. In addition, this paper also discusses the security management of the E-Clinic database system based on user role assigned when they have registered in E-Clinic portal. With the used for E-Clinic portal, it will make the clinic daily operation more efficient and assist it to perform data sharing with authorized people. The result of this study shows that E-Clinic portal can overcome the future growth of patients with an electronic database.
