Wavelength division demultiplexer for CWDM systems

In recent years, Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) systems have become more important with wide and rapid spread of the Internet. We have fabricated a four-channel wavelength division demultiplexer for CWDM Systems operating at 1270, 1290, 1310, and 1330nm, by using a diffraction grating and a polymer optical waveguide together. A wide passband of 10nm, low insertion loss of 6dB, and low cross talk of less than -18dB were achieved for a TM-polarized beam incident on the grating.
