摘要

The absolute gashyphen;phase infrared intensities for the triply degenerate vibrations of SnH4and SnD4are determined using the nitrogen pressurehyphen;broadening technique. An analysis of the SnH4intensities yields alternative sets for the dipolehyphen;moment derivatives in terms of the symmetry coordinates of theF2species: For part;Pz/part;S3, Set I is plusmn;2.81plusmn;0.14 D/Aring; and Set II is plusmn;2.66plusmn;0.14 D/Aring;; for part;Pz/part;S4, Set I is plusmn;1.68plusmn;0.09 D/Aring; and Set II is mnplus;1.85plusmn;0.09 D/Aring;. A comparison with data for the other Group IV hydrides suggests a possible preference for Set I, the positive ratio for the relative sign combination of the stretching and bending dipolehyphen;moment derivatives.
