摘要

Proper management of blood glucose levels is essential to prevent complications in diabetes. This paper aims to discuss the miniaturized size of ultrasonic transmitter. The method of using lead free piezo-electric material like zinc oxide (ZnO) is designed and developed for non-invasive blood glucose detection. Prior to fabrication of ultrasonic Micro-Electronics Mechanical Systems (MEMS) device, design and simulation are extensively needed to avoid wastage of expensive time and cost. By varying width and thickness of the piezoelectric sample of this transmitter, the dimension was optimized to produce maximum transmitting pressure. The potential of 1.6 Volts with frequency of 350 MHz was applied to the optimized device which was placed inside a cylindrical blood sample medium. The surface and radial displacement of the transducer is studied with respect to pressure and stress by applying to blood sample. On observation, it has been found that different pressure generated at transmitting end of ZnO used, with respect to different glucose levels. The detected glucose level obtained from the blood samples is compared with commercially available glucometer.
