Analysis of the mechanical behaviour of bimetallic composites under uniaxial tension

bimetallic composites are a rational solution to applications inwhich high strengths together with excellent corrosion resistance arerequired. Solid state diffusion bonding techniques are used toproduce this kind of metallic composites. Depending on the nature ofthe components different kind of interfaces and be formed (i.e.extended solid solutions or intermetallics). In the presents workseveral diffusion bonded materials have been tested in tension withthe interface parallel to the tensile direction.
