Crystalhyphen;Field Term Symbols for Nd3+in CaWO4

摘要

The crystalhyphen;field term symbols for the4F32state and the three lowest4Istates of Nd3+in CaWO4are identified with the irreducible representations of the double group ofS4symmetry. The assignments were made after an analysis of the polarized fluorescence of Nd3+in CaWO4compensated by Na+. The selection rules corresponding to electrichyphen;dipole transitions were applied after establishing the multipolarity through polarized absorption.
